Where to Start
Are you new to Tai Chi and looking for a class?
This page is designed to help you to get started.
As a gift from us to help you on your way, here is your free 18-page guide which should tell you pretty much everything you need to know as you take the first steps on your Tai Chi journey
It covers everything from why people do Tai Chi, how to find a class and what to expect in your first few lessons, to an illustrated guide explaining the main Tai Chi principles. Basically, it's like having a best friend with you who's been doing Tai Chi for a long time.
Click on the link below (orange writing) to see your guide as a PDF file. You can just read this guide as it is, or save it onto your hard drive or print off a copy to keep. It could be the start of your collection!

If you are looking for a teacher in the UK, go to the website of the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain, where you will find a list of approved instructors in your area.
The several hundred instructors listed there have either been referred by some of the best teachers in the country or have undergone an assessment by the Technical Panel of the Tai Chi Union. Although this isn't a 100% quarantee that your teacher will be brilliant, it should go a long way towards improving the odds that they are actually doing a recognised style of Tai Chi.
If you want to know more about the different styles of Tai Chi, see our Tai Chi Lineage page.
If you happen to live in or around Leeds, West Yorkshire, you are welcome to come along to one of our classes. Go to taichileeds.com or yiheyuan.co.uk for a list of our classes and TCUGB-approved instructors.
Happy exploring!
All the best, g
